On a Wing and a Prayer - Toyota TS030

The No.7 Toyota TS030 on the run down to Vale corner during Friday Practice 2, 24th August 2012, Silverstone.

The 2012 6 Hours of Silverstone was Toyota's first race outside of the Le Mans 24 Hours. They only entered one car (for budgetary reasons) and it carried the No.7. It was driven by Alex Wurz, Nico Lapierre and Kazuki Nakajima. The car took third on the grid in qualifying and eventually finished second, marking Toyota's first podium in the World Endurance Championship

3 weeks later, on the 15th September 2012, this TS030 took it's first World Endurance Championship victory with Nico Lapierre and Alex Wurz at the 6 Hours of Sao Paulo, ending Audi's supremacy of the 2012 season. Two races after that, all three drivers would take an historic victory at the 6 Hours of Fuji, a circuit owned by the Toyota company, in front of a Japanese crowd with Kazuki Nakajima bringing the car across the line.
